Aucklanders go home!

After my last “Yorkie – It’s not for girls!” blog post about the chocolate bar with some controversial branding, I thought I’d show how New Zealand advertising is also creating a bit of attention through controversial means.
A recent marketing campaign for Air New Zealand’s grabaseat offer has seen a run of great billboard advertisements.
Bold, straightforward and each with a humorous message (other slogans include “Bugger off for bugger all”) these billboards are creating a great chuckle as well as sticking in the memory a lot better than some generic blurb about discount flight deals. Plus the controversial aspect creates a bit of water-cooler talk back at the office.
Note: I took this photo on a very dull day with a boring over-pass backdrop, so I’ve merged it with a sunny picture of the Southern Alps to spruce it up a bit! Here’s what the original weather and setting looked like:
