Protecting your clients’ email addresses
Sadly something we see rather a lot of are bulk emails, like newsletters, that show all the recipients’ email addresses. It may be forgivable if it’s the annual Christmas email to the family, but it looks unprofessional if it’s sent in a business context.
Not only does it imply that the sender doesn’t care about the recipients’ privacy, but it furthers the opportunity for spamming.
The sender also exposes themselves. Think about it… if your competitors are savvy, they’ll also be on your newsletter subscription list (or their friend may be), and you’ve just emailed them your database of contacts!
The solution is easy. Put your own email address in the ‘To’ field and hide the recipient emails in the ‘Bcc’ field before you hit the send button.
